KHA 2021: The hiphop ceremony

The only music awards ceremony of this genre in Korea, the “Korean Hiphop Awards”, will raise the curtain.

This year, the fifth edition of the “Korean Hiphop Awards (KHA 2021)” is a project co-organized by hiphop Playa and Hiphopel, two main Korean hip-hop media, and will highlight the hip-hop genre, rewarding Musical works by Korean hiphop and RnB artists released between January 1st, 2020 to December 31th, 2020.

“KHA 2021” includes a total of 11 categories, including “Artist of the Year“, “Hip-Hop Album of the Year” and “R&B Album of the Year“, and nominee recommendations will start from January 4th to 11th. In order to establish fairness and diversity, the results of the vote of Internet users and the selection committee of music critics and various media experts will be combined in a ratio of 5:5 to determine the final winner. The internet vote will take place from January 15th to January 29th, when the candidate’s recommendation is complete.

At last year’s “KHA 2020“, a total of 11 awards were presented, including “Artist of the Year: Yumdda”, “Hip-Hop Album of the Year: C-Jam with” 킁” and “New Artist of the Year: Ash Island.” On the other hand, the show will be pre-recorded, not face-to-face, this year due to the pandemic.

The “KHA 2021” ceremony will take place in mid-February 2021, with hiphop media Dingo Freestyle participating as a media partner.
