TOP8 : The best of the trot

On this Friday, February 19th, several singers of trot, Korean popular music, gather to give an exclusive interview, forming the group TOP8.

Composed of JAEHA, JIN HAESUNG, CHOI HYANG, HAN KANG, SHIN SEUNGTAE, KIM YONGBIN, OH YUJIN, and the duo SANGHO and SANGMIN, the group TOP8 brings together talented trot singers, present during a showcase transmitted on Youtube by the agency POCKET DOLL STUDIO. They will compete for the best singer award on Saturday at 9:15 p.m. on KBS2. The singers all start by introducing themselves, and we immediately feel that a good relationship binds them together. They look forward to presenting their fans with new performances, having prepared collaborations and an album. The twin duo SANGHO and SANGMIN hope to win so they can give gifts to their parents, such as a new car for their father. All the singers follow them, wishing to offer gifts to their families and hoping above all to make their loved ones proud. At only twelve years old, OH YUJIN, the youngest member of the group, makes her elders smile with her innocence and her pure voice.

Afterwards, CHOI HYANG and SHIN SEUNGTAE sing briefly to show their voices, imitated by JIN HAESUNG. The duo takes the floor to say that they have received many messages of support and congratulating them for arriving in the TOP8, and they confide in return, with the aim of surprising the public and their loved one. For CHOI HYANG, her wish is to go on stage with the other singers to share a moment together during the final and share their common passion. OH YUJIN does not want to reveal to the camera what kind of performance she has prepared, wishing to surprise as many people as possible. The other artists hope to one day be able to hold a concert and meet their fans, and experiment with new things to develop their careers.

Singers tell each other that they can do it, that they can succeed, to encourage each other. OH YUJIN gets the most questions everywhere the singers, tenderening the audience, who wonder about its future. She says she doesn’t want to make her debuts in the Kpop field, having no interest in pop and no confidence in her dance, and only wants to continue her career as a trot singer, even if she has several auditions until she gets her way. KIM YONGBIN admits he can’t wait to see the twins perform and CHOI HYANG selects the youngest of the group, convinced that she will surprise them all.

Regardless of the outcome of the singing competition, all singers will remember the human experience, and all the former participants of this program. They concluded this interview, quickly reuniting with their fans, to find out who would be voted best trot singer.
