LEE HANGYUL and NAM DOHYEON: First fanmeeting for X1’s former members.

X1‘s former members, LEE HANGYUL and NAM DOHYEON from MBK Entertainment, met their fans.

This Sunday, February 2nd, the streets of northeast Seoul were flooded with fans who came to witness the first fanmeeting of two former members of the group X1, dissbanded after the scandal of votes manipulated by the CEO of Produce X 101 earlier, by the end of last year.

LEE HANGYUL (이한결) was previously known as a member of THE UNIT and SIXC. Ranked seventh in the group’s final standing, he was accompanied by NAM DOHYEON (남도현), eighth in the ranking, who also participated in the show Under Nineteen. This fanmeeting, entitled Happy Day: Birthday, was an opportunity for them to greet their fans for the first time since the dissband of their group X1.

Despite the current panic caused by the Corona Virus, it was with serenity but caution that the event began. The two boys climbed onto the stage prepared at Gyeonggie University, and appeared in front of reporters. They expressed their joy at being able to see their fans again despite the cold weather.

They then explained the meaning of the fanmeeting name: Happy Day because the initials also represent those of the members, Happy for HANGYUL and Day for DOHYEON. The term birthday, on the other hand, refers to the anniversary of their debut.

LEE HANGYUL explained that for this fanmeeting he prepared a piano performance and said that playing it is a a good way for him to relieve stress. The duo were worried about the content of the evening to be presented to the fans, considering the dissband of X1. However, NAM DOHYEON thinks that his tastes are quite close those of LEE HANGYUL and that they would be able to offer performances that will please their fans.

Although the end of the band is regrettable, the desire to succeed in the music industry has not left the duo. For them, the main thing is to continue and spend happy moments on stage.
