LUNA participated in the song for the 2020 version of “대한이 살았다“, a project celebrating the 101st anniversary of the March 1st Independence Movement, which was released on March 1st, according to Luna’s agency, Humap Contents .
The song is the re-enactment of a song sung by seven independence fighters (Kim Hyang-hwa, Kwon Ae-ra, Shin Kwan-bin, Shim Myung-chul, Im Myung-ae, Eo Yoon-hee and Yoo Gwan-soon) who were imprisoned together in Yeooksa No. 8 of Seodaemun prison shortly after the independence movement of March 1st. It was revived after 100 years with a new melody last year.
If the original song released last year expressed the desire of the independent fighter to pray for “eternal peace”, the 2020 version means the first year for the start of a new century in South Korea that will become even greater. With LUNA, rapper Madclown participated in the song and music director Jung Jae-he arranged it.
“As this year marks the 101st anniversary of the Independence Movement on March 1, I am honored to participate in the “대한이 살았다” project with an excellent opportunity to pass on the sense of history to my young friends,” said LUNA.
