On May 4th, ASTRO six members started to promote their 7th mini album entitled “GATEWAY” à thanks to a showcase on the VLIVE app. Let’s learn more about the group and travel in time with the members….
This showcase started with an introduction by the MC and the arrival of the group on stage. The members introduced themselves and CHA EUNWOO even said a few words in English for the international fans who were watching.
After talking about a few TMIs, as ROCKY‘s many rings or CHA EUNWOO‘s bluish hair, the group started a time travel to talk about all of the albums since the day of their debuts in February 2016. For example, for their first mini album “SPRING UP”, the members danced a part of the chorus of their debut song “Hide and seek”.
Then, the members talked about the mini album “SUMMER VIBE” which showed a fresh side of the group, then “AUTUMN STORY” in which the members were wearing school uniforms and finally, then talked about the special album “WINTER DREAM”. After that, they introduced the albums “DREAM PART 01” and “DREAM PART 02” which helped the group showing a cooler side. The MC asked MOONBIN to show the dance intro of the song “Baby” which became popular in 2017 because of the hard dance steps. MOONBIN was indeed able to show his great dance skills.
The time travel lead the members to talk about the special album “RISE UP” and the first full album “ALL LIGHT” which made them having their first win at a music show. While thinking about this day, JINJIN was still happy and said that it was hard for him to keep his tears when he saw the fans in front of him for this beautiful win. Then, ASTRO talked about the “BLUE FLAME” mini-album which five members had to promote without MOONBIN who was sick, and the increasing popularity of the group in late 2019. It was also the fist time for ROCKY to put one of his own songs in one of the group’s albums. His song, “When the wind blows”, became really popular and ROCKY precised that he still has ten songs to polish and said that he really wants to be able to let the fans hear them one day. To finish this time travel, the group showed the special album dedicated to the fans which was released in February 2020.
After that, ASTRO told the MC what was the meaning of the 7th mini album. It is like becoming an new ASTRO, a kind of upgrade to become even cooler and more powerful while keeping a fresh image. MJ, who is the happy-virus of the group, had to show what it is to be fresh and powerful at the same time, making everyone laugh.
ASTRO listened to the highlight medley of the mini-album “GATEWAY” and the six members were able to choose the song they want to recommand to the fans. JINJIN introduced the 6th trak which is his self composed song. “Lights on” is a song he started writing in late 2019 and he describes it having a future KPOP style.
The two versions of “GATEWAY” were introduced by the members who could show their favorite photo of the member on their right.
After that, the main dance points of the title song “Knock” were danced by the main dancer, ROCKY, then by MOONBIN and JINJIN. They even said this choreo was the hardest they ever had for a promoting song. At last, YOON SANHA, the youngest member, also showed his powerful dance moves, he who was only considered as a cute young man for a long time.
Then, the group sang one of their new tracks, “We Still”, that MOONBIN describes as a perfect song to end a concert.
The showcase ended by the members wishes for this album’s promotion. MJ wanted ASTRO and their fans to stay healthy, happy and he would like to see the fans again quickly. ROCKY wished for everyone’s great health and wished that many more persons could know ASTRO.
At the end, the six of them thanked the MC et performed the title song “Knock” which has beautiful lyrics, a catching chorus and an amazing choreo which has really hard steps.
This showcase helped us discovering again the members unique charms and the kindness of each member of ASTRO. While seeing them together, we really feel that they are like a family in which they can find help when needed. This group is always so joyful and lovely it is hard not to fall for them as human beings as well as artists. During this showcase, ASTRO made us laugh and made us happy with their kind words, as for example, when they thanked many times their fans for staying with them. The group’s fans, called AROHA, have a special place in the members heart and they always try to give this precious love back to the members. Indeed, the number of tapping hearts in the showcase VLIVE video went up to 965 000 000 which is a record for ASTRO. The endless love of AROHA will help ASTRO improving and being even more popular.
