JEONG EUN JI, who shows her strong potential as a lead singer and leading female solo artist in the K-pop girl group APINK, will return with her new album “SIMPLE” one year and nine months after her 3rd mini -album “HYEHWA” and a year and three months after his digital single “Be with me“.
JEONG EUN JI, who made her debut as a member of the APINK in 2011 and who was recognized for her exceptional talents as a singer, took her first solo steps in 2016, thus continuing her brilliant career. Q. You’re making a solo comeback after a long time. How do you feel?
It’s been a while since I’ve made a comeback, so I’m as nervous as when we released our first album. I think it’s because I want to reimburse the fans who are impatiently waiting for me.
Q. Can you show us your fourth mini-album “SIMPLE”.
This “SIMPLE” album talks about “Heart“. I thought about what I really wanted to do and what I should do when I wanted to comfort myself.
Q. What type of song is the title track “Away“? What is the point of attraction or appreciation of the song?
The title track of this album, “Away“, is the coolest and most refreshing song from the album called “SIMPLE“. If the previous songs were warm, the title song “Away” is based on cool group sound. I hope this song will help a lot of people who feel tired during the hot summer.
Q. What other tracks would you like to recommend in addition to the title track?
All the songs on the album have different meanings, so if you listen to them one by one and it speaks to your heart, then I would like to recommend this song to you.
Q. You produced the entire album. Is there a part on which your work has focused most?
I thought a lot about the kind of music I wanted to do. The more I worked on the album, the more I thought about what kind of song I could listen to for a long time.
Q. How was your work with Sun Woo Jun, 10CM and So Soo Bin?
The fact that my favorite artists participated in my album became a gift for me. I learned a lot because each of their musical styles is different. I have worked with them before, so it was more comfortable and enjoyable.
Q. Album teasers such as cover images and trailers received positive responses. We can feel the change in concept. What did you want to show?
The fans loved it, so I got to work on it. Not only in the trailer for this album, but also thanks to the agency and the team that manages YouTube with me, I was able to capture and show more my colors thanks to the production. Everyone worked so hard.
Q. Can you introduce the “way to comfort yourself” or the “way to relieve stress” of JEONG EUN JI in her daily life?
I’m looking for it too. I draw pictures and solve puzzles while playing games, I try not to think about it for a while. However, it is fun and I am grateful to be able to meet and talk with people I love.
Q. Produce the entire album … You grew up as a solo artist. What kind of music do you want to make in the future?
I thought a lot about the kind of music I want to do and I released this album. I have a greater affection for this album. Even if the genre changes, I want to continue to give “sympathy and comfort” with my albums, as they have always brought.
Q. What are your future plans and goals?
I intend to continue working in various fields as well as on my albums. I want to continue to perform with APINK and continue to work.
Q. Do you have something to say to the fans waiting for you?
I come to see you every day as a radio DJ, but I’m nervous and excited because it’s been a long time since I made a solo comeback. It has been so long since I have performed alone, so I want to see you and sing with you in the same space. I hope you are all taking good care of your health and I want to sing together in a concert hall.
