IM SEUL ONG
IM SEUL ONG (33 years old), singer and actor of the group 2AM which struck and killed a pedestrian, during an evening in the car, received, a summary judgment, a fine.
According to the legal community on January 18th, the Seoul West District Court issued an order announcing that IM SEUL ONG was fined 7 million won (About 5,300 euros / $ 6,300). A summary order refers to the court’s review of documents and announces the conviction without a formal trial. The prosecution summarily charged IM SEUL ONG with violating the special law on the treatment of traffic accidents, considering that he had agreed with the bereaved family earlier.
IM SEUL ONG was driving an SUV on a road in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, at 11:50 pm on August 1st last year, when he collided with a man walking on a zebra crossing. Victim “A” was taken to a nearby hospital but died. It was found that IM SEUL ONG had not been drinking alcohol at the time of the accident. The police had referred the case to the prosecution for violation of the special law on the management of road accidents, believing that IM SEUL ONG was also partly responsible.
IM SEUL ONG has not engaged in any official activity since the incident.
