KIM HIMCHAN
The first hearing of the trial of HIMCHAN (real name Kim Himchan) of the group B.A.P. is over.
On the afternoon of January 29th, the 9th trial was held at the Seoul Central District Court in Seocho-gu, Seoul, against HIMCHAN, who was charged with indecent assault at a first hearing by a criminal judge (Choo Sung Yeop).
HIMCHAN attended the hearing with his lawyer.
HIMCHAN was accused of forcibly assaulting a woman in her twenties at a boarding house in Namyangju, Gyeonggi province, on July 24th, 2018. By that time, HIMCHAN had been drinking with three men and three women. Later, police were called to the scene after “A” reported her, and “A” claimed that she was forcibly assaulted (by HIMCHAN), HINCHAN denied the charges, saying:
“We felt good with each other.”
HIMCHAN argued, from the first trial to the eighth trial, it was physical contact without coercion, without force.
The court decided to proceed with the sentencing hearing on February 24th and concluded the hearing that day.
In addition, HIMCHAN was arrested by the police for violation of the Highway Code (driving while intoxicated) in October 2020, while on trial for indecent assault. At the time of the incident, HIMCHAN’s blood alcohol level was over 0.08%. There were no casualties.
At the time, HIMCHAN took an official stand and apologized, saying, “I think deeply that I caused deep disappointment to the public with these inappropriate and shameful events,” adding, “I will live my whole life. life with that personal reflection. ”
The former singer of the group B.A.P is awaiting his sentence which will be unveiled on February 24th.
