DREAMCATCHER: First kpop group to perform at the famous “Primavera Sound” festival in Barcelona

DREAMCATCHER becomes the first kpop group to perform at the famous “Primavera Sound” festival in Barcelona in 2022.

As the world gradually recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic, kpop artists are finally starting to announce in-person performances again and one of the biggest comes from DREAMCATCHER, who will be performing at the world-renowned festival “Primavera Sound” in Barcelona, Spain.

Launched in 2001, Primavera Sound has grown into one of the world’s largest music festivals over the past 20 years. Every year, hundreds of thousands of music lovers from all over the world gather at Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, a public park by the sea that creates a unique summer atmosphere. The last Primavera Sound concert drew 220,000 participants.

From now on, DREAMCATCHER is making history by joining the line up. Becoming the first kpop group to attend the festival, DREAMCATCHER is officially confirmed to perform at Primavera Sound 2022!

While many fans wondered if the poster with the line up really referred to the kpop group and not another artist of the same name, Primavera Sound took to Twitter to let fans know that DREAMCATCHER is definitely the group that will be in attendance.

The festival also wrote a short article about the band’s awesome talent and music on their website stating, “In an industry as homogenized as kpop, it’s not easy to find bands or artists that surpass the crowd. DREAMCATCHER are one of those rare exceptions that blow up clichés of a whole genre. For starters, the Korean septet already had experience under the name MINX, until in 2017 they changed their name and two members add. Since then DREAMCATCHER has got all that is so appealing about kpop (an incredible aesthetic that gives us iconic videos, spectacular choreography, stories behind every song they release) but they bring variety and a depth that sets them apart from other similar bands. In a song, they can start with an anime opening, then launch you with a wild drop of EDM, knock you down with an explosion of animation, hip hop and end up branching out into a metallic chorus with a double kick and a histrionic riff. Do we jump, dance or sing? All that you want. DREAMCATCHER: we’re a fan.“

Tickets for Primavera Sound go on sale June 1st, 2021. Ticket prices have yet to be announced but typically cost between € 45 and € 195. According to the festival website, other artists will soon be added to the line up.
