Woollim Entertainment is criticized for its excessive publicity with the accounts of its artists.

At midnight on January 6, the profile photos and headers of Woollim Entertainment artists were replaced with mysterious images on all official SNS. This included those from Woollim Entertainment, Infinite, Lee Soo-jung, Golden Child, Rocket Punch, Drippin, and Kwon Eun-bi. The header was replaced with a photo with number codes in green, much like what we can see in the movie “Matrix”, and the profile photo was occupied by an unknown male figure.

Some fans have expressed fear that the agency’s artist accounts have been hacked. However, it turned out to be part of a promotion for DRIPPIN, which is set to make its comeback on January 17th. It was an event to promote the third mini-album “VILLAIN”. Finally, when the last DRIPPIN prologue video came out at noon that same day, the profile and header photos reverted to the original image.

Moreover, as for the group LOVELYZ, the fans were disappointed not to have done particular activities for a year and two months after their seventh mini-album “UNFORGETTABLE” in September 2020. Then the LOVELYZ were also absent from the list of artists published on the official website of Woollim Entertainment since the agency had announced the end of contracts with members (except BABY SOUL). And this one is using their SNS to promote another group, for the fans is too much.
Woollim Entertainment has not taken a meaningful position on this and is consistent with its silence. It remains to be seen whether Woollim Entertainment, which is focused on preparing for DRIPPIN’s return activities, will continue its movement, regardless of the uncomfortable look on the agency.
