Great M Entertainment (hereafter referred to as Great M) announced on August 2 that they had confirmed the name of the new boy group, which is about to be released, as 82MAJOR.
Great M is a new agency founded in 2020 by Kim Young Sun, a former representative of FNC Entertainment. CHOA, a former member of girl group AOA, belongs to the agency.
82MAJOR is set to debut in the second half of this year. Great M completed the “RAREHOUSE Project” and introduced content featuring early group members through YouTube and other networks.
Great M said, “The group’s name designed in Korea’s national code 82 contains the ambition to ‘go beyond Korea’, the birthplace of K-pop, to become a major in the world“, adding, “82MAJOR will be a group that presents a new direction for the world of K-pop.”
