HIMCHAN
The court sentenced HIMCHAN to one year in prison for forced harassment.
On the morning of August 7, the fourth trial on HIMCHAN’s alleged forced harassment was held before the 5th Criminal Division (Chief Judge Kim Yumi) of Seoul’s Western District Court.
HIMCHAN, a former member of B.A.P., is accused of forcibly assaulting two women in April 2022 at a restaurant he knew in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
HIMCHAN was previously sentenced to 10 months in prison for forced harassment in 2018 and is currently serving his sentence. HIMCHAN was sentenced to 10 months in prison and a 40-hour sexual abuse treatment program for forcibly assaulting a woman in her twenties at a boarding house in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. During the second forcible harassment trial, a new charge of rape was brought and HIMCHAN’s attorney requested that the case be merged.
HIMCHAN, who appeared in court in a blue suit, said, “I walked into a correctional facility and thought a lot about myself. I am sorry for the victims of this incident. I sincerely ask for maximum leniency,” he apologized.
HIMCHAN’s final sentencing hearing will be held on September 6.
