Whether you’re a devoted CARAT, a casual baby-CARAT, or a dedicated member of CUBICs (fans of “GOING SEVENTEEN“), have you ever wondered how your fan characteristics align with your “bias” (“favorite member”) within SEVENTEEN?

As a fellow CARAT, SEVENTEEN‘s fan, I found it interesting to examine the traits of my fellow CARATs and those across the internet to decipher what defines SEVENTEEN fans, depending on their “bias” (“favorite member”). After all, some say that “our favorite member reflects our own identity“.

• But first, a little history lesson :

SEVENTEEN fans (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino) earned the name “캐럿” or “CARAT“, on February 14th, 2016, during the “LIKE SEVENTEEN – Boys Wish” concert.

The group’s leader, S.COUPS, made the announcement, saying :

“We have an announcement to make. You make us shine, so you will be our CARATs.” – S.COUPS

In general, CARATs are known for their unwavering dedication to the group. They often create a warm and familial atmosphere among fellow fans and friends. It’s quite common for CARATs not to have a single “bias”, as they believe each member represents a part of themselves. However, it’s interesting to note that the characteristics of CARATs can vary based on their favorite member.

Here’s an analysis of the different types of CARATs according to their “bias”:

• S.COUPS – “Couprang” (name given to S.COUPS fans)

As the group’s “leader” and head of the Hip-Hop unit, S.COUPS is admired for his sense of responsibility and leadership. CARATs who support him are generally organized, disciplined, and possess a strong work ethic. Fans of S.COUPS are often the first to engage in supporting the group and encouraging unity within the “fanbase” (“group of fans”). In their work or studies, Couprangs often play proactive and even decision-making roles, just like S.COUPS within the group. They are also very comforting, understanding, and always know what to say. They excel at listening to others’ emotions, although they might sometimes struggle to understand or manage their own.

• JEONGHAN – “Jjongjjongie fan” (name given to JEONGHAN fans)

JEONGHAN is known for his angelic appearance and gentle charm. Jjongjjongie fans tend to be sensitive, empathetic, and caring individuals who are willing to go to great lengths to protect loved ones. They are known for their warm and considerate ways of expressing love and support for both fellow fans and the group. Those who favor him often have a marked appreciation for beauty and aesthetics, easily captivated by visual and stylistic aspects. They are great fun to be around, but they can also be mischievous, showcasing a talent for pranks and humor, often influenced by the member who excels in this.

• JOSHUA – “Joshushushu” (name given to JOSHUA fans)

JOSHUA‘s fans are often drawn to his gentle personality and melodic voice. They are typically sensitive souls who appreciate emotional songs and kindness. • WONWOO – “Wonwoorideul” (name given to WONWOO fans)

CARATs who support WONWOO are often attracted to his intelligence and mysterious charm. They appreciate deep lyrics and are generally thoughtful individuals. As fans of THE8, 8stars often consider themselves fashionistas, having gone through various life experiences and being ready to be there for others and take care of people. However, they are often still in the process of learning how to take care of themselves. They seek to surround themselves with people they love, nurturing affection for others, maintaining relationships, and seeking love from others. They often ponder many questions about life and human relationships, showing a constant desire for understanding and growth.

• MINGYU – “Gyuldaengie” (name given to MINGYU fans)

Fans of MINGYU are often drawn to his warm personality and beauty. They are usually kind-hearted, ready to lend a hand to help others, reflecting MINGYU‘s caring personality. Gyuldaengies stand out for their extreme kindness and open-mindedness. Although they sometimes get distracted by the emotions of others, their ability to offer comfort is unparalleled. They possess great intuition, knowing how to encourage and support the people around them, all the while joyfully celebrating their successes and achievements.

• DK – “Kwiyeomdongmoim” (“cute gathering”) (name given to DK fans)

Kwiyeomdongmoims are often the ones who love DK‘s good-humored nature and incredible voice. They are characterized by their boundless energy, extroverted personalities, and love for singing their hearts out during the group’s concerts, spreading their infectious enthusiasm. These CARATs have a knack for brightening someone’s day with a simple smile, naturally attracting others. They are sociable individuals, although their energy can sometimes be a bit too intense. Their strong motivation and dedication are reflected in their efforts, showing exceptional determination in everything they undertake.

• SEUNGKWAN – “Boosadan” (name given to SEUNGKWAN fans)

SEUNGKWAN is known for his powerful voice and talents as an entertainer. Fans of SEUNGKWAN often appreciate live music and are generally cheerful people who love to sing. As Boosadan, they often take on the role of the “mom” among their group of friends, acting as a protective and caring figure. Their personalities are both lively and extroverted, but they can also be reserved at times. They prefer to surround themselves with people whose energy matches theirs and ensure that no one feels left out.
