JUNG YONG HWA
“Your City (너의 도시)” by JUNG YONG HWA of the group CNBLUE was selected as the 10th best K-pop song of 2023 on Billboard in the United States.

On December 28, Billboard, an American music media outlet, released “The 25 Best K-Pop Songs of 2023”. Among them, “Your city“, the title song of JUNG YONG HWA‘s second mini album “Your city“, released in September, ranked 10th.
Billboard columnist Jeff Benjamin praised JUNG YONG HWA‘s solo song “Your city,” saying, “With all the markings of a modern-day pop-rock hit, the CNBLUE leader proves he still boasts loads of crossover potential coming up 15 years into his career. An undeniable whistle hook opens and continues throughout the track, backing Yong Hwa’s increasingly passionate and complex harmonies as he leaves a lover behind. Despite the song’s lonely conclusion, Jung Yong Hwa’s delivery has a way of uplifting the listener to ingrain a sense of hope by track’s end.”
“Your city” is an alternative indie genre song that combines rock and retro, starting with a catchy whistling sound, and the funky electric guitar rhythm and low-pitched riff in the chorus section are appealing. The song contains the feeling of leaving your other half, who has changed so much since the beginning, without regret.
JUNG YONG HWA‘s second mini album “Your city” topped the iTunes Album Chart, POP Album Chart and KPOP Album Chart right after its release, and ranked in the top 5 in 15 regions. In the POP album chart, it was ranked in the top 5 in 14 regions, and in the overall album chart, it was ranked in the top 5 in 11 regions. JUNG YONG HWA also made headlines by singing his new song “Your city” at several college festivals.
