What about reviewing one of the most popular types of coffee shops in South Korea?

If you walk through the streets of Seoul, you will see that coffee shops are part of the decor in Seoul and you may no longer even pay attention to them. Indeed, in the most popular and busy streets of the Korean capital, it is not uncommon to find a coffee shop every 5 meters and it is easy to get lost and can be hard to decide which one to visit.
Animal coffee shops are very popular and loved and they are booming. Indeed, you can spend some time with all kinds of furballs without having to take responsibility for them or going to an animal park. The advantage is also that you can eat and/or drink a hot or cold drink while enjoying animals, each more endearing than the others. However, not all animal coffee are equal and you should do some research before visiting one. If you are looking for a quality animal coffee shop, you should first check reviews online, ensure the place’s longevity and the health and behavior of the animals.
I think you now understand that animal coffee shops are numerous and there is at least one that can suit your tastes, including the most original ones. Here is a small selection of the most famous or best rated by consumers and travelers:
- Wanggwan House Parrot Cafe and its parrots.
- Thanks Nature Cafe and its sheeps.
- Eden Meerkat Friends and its wild animals such as meerkats.
- Sunny’s Dog Cafe and its dogs.
- Cloudy Sky where small and large dogs rub shoulders.
- Skycat Cafe with its large and luxurious space filled with cats.
- Cats’ Playground where cats live in a very cute place.
- Table A and its exotic animals including reptiles.
To summarize, if you are visiting Seoul, do not hesitate to look for these animal coffee shops and spend a few hours there to have your very own opinion. My favorites are those with rescued cats who can be fed, protected and petted every day instead of living in shelters or on the streets.
The opinion of our journalist:
Be careful though, some of these coffee shops may seem incredible and original to you, but if, like me, you care about animal, some of these coffee shops might make you uncomfortable or even sad. Indeed, I think that a wild animal like the meerkat should only live in its natural habitat or in a reserve with a suitable structure and large oudoor spaces. These coffee shops are not made to accommodate such animals and, for me, keeping them in small spaces, under a roof and putting collars on them, is not something natural and I do not like it. To end on a positive note, my favorite animal coffee shop is the Goyangi Darakbang located in the Sinchon district, a place filled with cats, each more endearing than the others. The cat above is one of the residents of this place. All the cats there are nice, more or less shy and sociable, and they live in a cute space which is managed by a small welcoming and caring team. Plus, you can see below that you can order lovely drinks such as this matcha tea which was given to me by the manager as I was a regular there.
