STRAY KIDS member FELIX donated 100 million won to the Korean Committee of UNICEF.
The UNICEF Korean Committee said on January 4: “FELIX, who became the youngest member in the history of the UNICEF Honor Club and the first member in 2024, is famous for being a person who has always been at the forefront of sharing activities for disadvantaged neighbors. This time we have released funds to help children in Laos who have difficulty growing up due to poor environment, poor hygiene of drinking water and poor nutrition.“
Laos is one of the countries with poor drinking water hygiene and nutrition, with only 18% of the population using safe drinking water and 33% of infants under 5 suffering from stunted growth.
FELIX said:
“I participated in this donation because I wanted to share the love I received. I hope that the children of Laos, who suffer from contaminated water, lack of sanitation and insufficient nutrition, will grow up healthy in a safer environment in the new year.”
Cho Mijin, Secretary-General of the Korean Committee of UNICEF, said: “I think it is even more meaningful that the good influence of FELIX, which is appreciated by people all over the world, can be passed on to children around the world thanks to UNICEF. I sincerely thank FELIX for his warm sharing of hope and courage with the children of Laos in this new year.“
The entire fund will be used to improve the drinking water sanitation environment and support the nutrition of children in Laos.
UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) is the only organization that explicitly mentions its role in promoting children’s rights in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and is an affiliated organization of the UN which carries out projects such as health, nutrition, clean water and sanitation, education, protection and emergency relief for children around the world. As the representative organization of UNICEF in Korea, the UNICEF Korean Committee raises funds for children around the world and promotes children’s rights in Korea through projects aimed at creating a child-friendly society.
