After completing the second Japanese date of the “TOWARDS THE LIGHT: WILL TO POWER” world tour in Saitama on February 4, MINGI announced his first solo project “DESIRE PROJECT 1” for February 6. The ATEEZ rapper posted two concept photos on the group’s official SNS with this announcement. On the latter, MINGI poses in profile underlining the imposing butterfly tattoo on his neck. In addition to its imposing size, this tattoo attracts attention for its meaning: the butterfly symbolizes rebirth and freedom after a significant ordeal. It is a striking detail that can be linked to YUNHO and MINGI’s song, “Youth”.
Indeed, this song, written and composed by MINGI and YUNHO, is about a painful youth in which everyone can recognize themselves. Becoming an ode to youth, the duo perfectly expresses the trials and doubts that the transition to adulthood entails.
Therefore, MINGI will continue to express himself on this subject with the song “Tunnel“, which will be the first part of the “DESIRE PROJECT“. The title and publication time of the music video were revealed at noon KST on the group’s official SNS, arousing ATINYs’ curiosity once again.
