ONF: A highly anticipated concert

After two years and four months, ONF is back for its concert in Korea, « 2024 ONF CONCERT [SPOTLIGHT] IN SEOUL ».

On April 6th and 7th, 2024, ONF (Hyo Jin, E-Tion, Seungjun, Wyatt, Minkyun, and U) held its concert, “2024 ONF CONCERT [SPOTLIGHT] IN SEOUL“, at the KBS Arena in Seoul.

Over the course of two days, the group performed in front of its fans, FUSEs, and prepared them for the release of its new mini-album, “BEAUTIFUL SHADOW“, scheduled to be released on April 8th.

This concert was highly anticipated by FUSEs, as it marked the second solo concert organized in two years and four months since the group’s first solo concert, “ONF 2021 LIVE CONTACT: CODE #1 [REVERSE]“, held in 2021.

We were present at the second date of this energetic concert.

The concert kicked off with a VCR showcasing the members’ charisma under the spotlight, followed by the popular song “New World (Version KINGDOM)“. From the beginning of the concert, we could feel the members’ passion for being back on stage in their voices.

The show continued with “Ugly Dance” and “Gucci“, followed by the first ment. Each member introduced themselves one by one and thanked the FUSEs for coming.

MINKYUN: “I hope you enjoy the concert today!”

The concert featured a number of the group’s representative songs, as well as new songs from various albums: from its 1st repackaged album “CITY OF ONF” to its 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th mini-albums: “GO LIVE“, “SPIN OFF“, “Goosebumps” and “LOVE EFFECT“.

FUSEs had the chance to hear not just one but two songs from the group’s new mini-album “BEAUTIFUL SHADOW“: “Breath, Haze & Shadow” and “Bye My Monster“.

After the performance of “Breath, Haze & Shadow“, a darker VCR played on the screens, recounting the members’ memories under the spotlight. A candle goes out, a door opens, a new chapter? A new story? The spotlights come back on, and the members rise one by one, then run outside of this dark room. They find themselves in a mysterious forest with a gigantic birdcage behind them.

The performance of “Bye My Monster“, the title track of the 8th mini-album, set to be released on April 8th, was eagerly awaited by fans.

The last VCR explains the thought process behind the concert. The members mention:

“Since this is our first concert in a while, we wanted to perform all the sounds we’ve been able to create… but since that wasn’t possible, we wondered for a long time what songs our FUSEs would like to hear. While rehearsing and thinking about this concert, we really wanted to have fun and show you sounds that we haven’t been able to show you before.”

WYATT: “We will continue to show you our best music and performances!”

HYEOJUN: “We would like to thank you.”

The concert was about to end with “Your Song” from its special album “Storage of ONF” and “Message” from its 5th mini-album “SPIN OFF“. But the group returned to the stage to give its final thanks.

WYATT: “I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time, I was really looking forward to it, and I’m really sorry it took so long. I really wanted to have fun with you since 2021, but we couldn’t find the time with our military service.”

SEUNGJUN: « We had the chance to see each other today in April, it’s like a dream to see you. It’s a perfect dream for me. We hope you will support us for our new album coming out tomorrow. I love you, FUSEs »

HYOJIN: « It really made me happy to do this concert, a bit like a ‘treatment’ from you. I thought to myself, ‘Ah, really, it’s thanks to the FUSEs that I’m alive.’ I hope you will continue to give us strength and support in any form. Thank you for taking care of us, FUSEs! »

E-TION: « I had a lot of worries preparing for this concert, but we really did a good job, I really enjoyed doing this concert. Really thank you so much, it’s thanks to you, FUSEs. »

U: « Next time, we will prepare a concert even better than this one! When preparing for a concert, it’s often ‘Oh I want to do this music, me this one, etc.’ but this time it wasn’t the case, we really researched what FUSEs wanted to hear. Thank you very much. I hope to see you again at our next concert. »

MINKYUN: « I’m not good at expressing myself… Our time in the army really lasted, we’re really sorry it took so long. We even wondered if we should stop, but it’s really thanks to the fans and the members that we didn’t stop. I’m sincerely grateful! »

The concert ended with “Complete” from its 2nd mini-album “YOU COMPLETE ME” dedicated directly to its fans.
