The group SEVENTEEN and its fans exert a good influence through Melon’s ecological project “Forest; Trimming“.

Kakao Entertainment‘s music platform Melon announced on April 9 that it had created “세븐틴 2호숲 (SEVENTEEN Forest No. 2)” at Nanji Hangang Park in Seoul through an eco-friendly project called “Forest; Trimming” , which creates a forest in the name of the artists who support it.
“Forest; Trimming” is a project that offers any paid Melon member the opportunity to create a forest named after an artist. When using Melon’s payment voucher, if you simply select the name of your favorite artist on the “Forest; Trimming” page, up to 2% of the monthly payment amount will be automatically accrued. After that, if a total of 20 million won is accumulated for the artist, the entire sum will be donated to the Seoul Environmental Association to create a forest named after the artist in Seoul. Earlier, “Seventeen Forest 1“, “BTS Forest 1 and 2” and “Im Young Woong Forest” attracted attention.
SEVENTEEN demonstrated its prowess as the “top K-pop group” by reaching the milestone of over 16 million cumulative album sales last year. In particular, the title song of the 11th mini album “SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN” topped the Melon TOP100 for the first time in 23 years as a male group.
So, SEVENTEEN presented its first “Seventeen Forest” in October last year thanks to the explosive reaction of CARATs (Fandom name) and even announced the news of the second forest in about half a year. Melon, the Seoul Environmental Union and the Mirae Hangang Headquarters of the Seoul Metropolitan Government jointly established “SEVENTEEN Forest No. 2” in Nanji Hangang Park in Mapo-gu on the 8th, consisting of three royal cherry trees, 300 cherry trees in flower and 220 blunt-leaved privet.
Fans and citizens can watch around “SEVENTEEN Forest 1 and 2” if they visit the lawn near the Nanji Information Center.
Melon recently received the “Environmental Dimdol Award” from the Seoul Environmental Alliance for its achievements in the “Forest; Trimming” project. The award is given to citizens and organizations who have taken the initiative to solve environmental problems in Seoul or helped promote the activities of the Seoul Environmental Alliance. This is even more significant because Melon has a good influence by associating with music fans.
To participate in the “Forest; Trimming” project click on the “Forest; Trimming” menu, which appears when you tap the shortcut tab located on the far right of the Melon application. Not only idols, but also fans who support singers of various genres such as ballad, hip-hop, trot and indie work hard to exert a good influence.
