BLACKSWAN
The worldwide popularity of BLACKSWAN’s new song, “Roll up“, is not necessarily unusual.

According to its agency DR Music, BLACKSWAN’s “Roll up” reached No. 1 on the iTunes dance chart in eight countries in August, including South Africa, Finland, Portugal, Malaysia, Turkey, Vietnam, the United States, and Australia. It entered the Thai chart at No. 9, and existing major K-pop markets such as the United Kingdom, France, Brazil, and India are also affected by its success. This is significant as the song reached No. 1 on the global chart in less than 20 days after its release.
Immediately after its release on the 31st of last month, “Roll up” ranked 101 on the global iTunes chart, and also entered the top of the iTunes dance charts in the United States, Vietnam, Finland, the United Kingdom, France, and Australia, Spotify, and Hanteo Chart. This means that fandoms have formed not only in Korea, but also in South Africa, Finland, Malaysia, and Portugal.
As if to support this phenomenon, Apple TV+ attracted attention by uploading a trailer for the documentary series “Welcome to K-pop: Idol Story” on the 20th, which features K-pop idols such as BLACKSWAN, Jessi, and Cravity. The program, which showcases the bloody efforts of K-pop singers to the top stage, is scheduled to air on the 30th.
“What matters is whether you have passion or not. Compared to large agencies, the business grows rapidly with passion in a short period of time, even in a relatively poor environment,” said Yoon Deung Ryong, CEO of DR Music, expressing strong confidence and expectations.
BLACKSWAN consists of four non-Korean members, including FATOU (Belgium), SRIYA (India), GABI (Germany, Brazil), and NVEE (USA) since May last year. After releasing their first album, “THAT KARMA“, they have released their second album, “ROLL UP“.
