2Z‘s agency has announced the cancellation of its European tour, which was set to kick off next week.
On September 14th, 2024, GOGO2020 agency, issued an official statement confirming the cancellation of 2Z‘s (Hojin, Jiseob, Junghyun, Bumjun, Zunon) European tour. Originally delayed in June due to the Paris Olympics, this tour was meant to mark the Korean rock band’s first official meeting with its European fans.
In the statement, GOGO2020 emphasized how significant this tour was for the group. After months of preparation and excitement, especially following the difficulties posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the band members were eager to finally meet its European fans, who had been with the band since its debut.
“This European tour meant a lot to 2Z, particularly after enduring challenging times during the pandemic.“, the statement read.
However, despite this anticipation, “unforeseen external issues” ultimately jeopardized the success of the tour. The agency revealed that the primary reason for the cancellation was low ticket sales. Despite last-minute efforts by both GOGO2020 and the tour promoter to find solutions, they were ultimately forced to cancel, concluding that continuing the tour under such circumstances was unfeasible.
The statement, signed by the CEO of GOGO2020, included a sincere apology to European fans.
“As the head of the company, I take full responsibility for this. I apologize”, the CEO stated, acknowledging the disappointment.
The band also expressed its deep sadness over the cancellation but assured fans that this was not the end. GOGO2020 reaffirmed its commitment to making future arrangements for the group’s European fans.
Despite this setback, 2Z and its agency promised to provide updates as soon as the situation improves. They expressed their gratitude to all the fans who continue to support the band during this difficult time.
