Melon’s eco-friendly project “Forest; Trimming” meets the good influence of LIM YOUNG WOONG and EXO fans to make the forest along the Han River greener.

Melon, a music platform owned by Kakao Entertainment (co-CEOs Kwon Kisoo, Jang Yoonjoong), announced that it will open the eighth forest “LIM YOUNG WOONG No. 2 Forest” and the ninth forest “EXO Forest” to citizens in Seoul’s Nanji Hangang Park this month, in the name of artists.
“Forest; Trimming” is a project that offers the opportunity for any paying Melon member to create a forest named after an artist since June 2022. If you select the name of your favorite artist on the “Forest; Trimming” page while using Melon’s regular payment pass, up to 2% of the monthly payment will be automatically accrued. After that, if a total of 20 million won (14,000 dollars) is accumulated for the artist, all of the amount will be donated to the Seoul Environmental Union to create a forest named after the artist in Seoul.
Singer LIM YOUNG WOONG, who is popular nationwide, has surpassed 10 billion cumulative streams of Melon for the first time as a solo artist, created LIM YOUNG WOONG Forest, the third forest of “Forest; Trimming” in July last year, and this year, LIM YOUNG WOONG Forest 2 was created by surpassing 40 million won in accumulation.
LIM YOUNG WOONG Forest No. 2, which was created by Melon on September 23, the Seoul Environmental Union, and the Future Han River headquarters in Seoul, consists of a total of 403 trees, including three 喬 trees, 300 灌 trees, and 100 arrow trees, which are different from Forest No. 1.
K-pop’s top boy band EXO has become the ninth protagonist of these forests, with a cumulative amount exceeding 20 million won thanks to the strong support of EXO-L. “EXO Forest” will consist of a total of 403 trees in Nanji Han River Park on September 30. Not only did EXO rank second in the Million Album category of “Melon Hall”, with 7.12 million streams within 24 hours of the release of their seventh full-length album “EXIST” last year, but “First snow“, a special winter album released in 2013, managed to top the charts for the first time in 10 years, proving their popularity as a representative K-pop group.
If fans and citizens go to the lawn near the Nanji Information Center after the 30th, they will be able to visit the nine forests, including “BTS Forest 1 and 2” and “SEVENTEEN Forest 1 and 2”, in addition to “LIM YOUNG WONG Forest 1 and 2”.
You can participate in “Forest; Trimming” by clicking on the “Forest Trimming” menu that appears when you click on the shortcut tab on the far right of the Melon app. Fans who support singers of various genres such as ballads, hip-hop, trot, and indie as well as idols are working hard to create a good influence.
