SUGA
SUGA of BTS has been given a summary conviction of 15 million won for drunk driving.

BTS‘s SUGA’s drunk driving charges are set to be finalized with a fine.
According to the legal community, on September 30, Seoul Western District Court Judge Lee Yoo Seop issued a summary order of 15 million won (approximately $12,000) to SUGA, who was summarily charged with violating traffic laws. This is the same amount that the prosecution had previously requested.
A summary order is a procedure in which fines or penalties are imposed only based on a written hearing without holding a formal hearing. If SUGA does not agree, he can request a formal trial within seven days from the date of receiving notification of the summary order.
SUGA was charged with violating traffic laws by driving an electric vehicle while intoxicated on the street in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul at 11:15 p.m. KST on August 6. At the time of the discovery, SUGA’s blood alcohol level was 0.227%, well above the Korean standard of 0.08%, which would result in his license being revoked.
When the allegations were reported the day after the drunk driving incident, SUGA and his agency Hybe (Big Hit Music) immediately issued apologies, but most of them turned out to be lies. In the first statement, both parties described it as an “electric scooter,” but police later revealed that SUGA’s mobile device was a motorized device that did not fall under the category of an electric scooter. Since electric scooters and other electric devices have different levels of punishment for drunk driving, some suspected that SUGA and Hybe intended to reduce the criminal charges.
In response, Hybe issued a second statement, explaining that he had no intention of “reducing” the case. SUGA had reported to the police quickly so that the investigation could be resolved as soon as possible.
This has taken on a large scale, with social networks showing people trying to get the young artist removed from the group and others strongly defending him. The justice system has therefore decided and this is settled with a fine.
