JESSI
Singer JESSI, who was under investigation by police for “standing on the sidelines” even after seeing an underage fan being assaulted, has been dismissed from prosecution.

According to a report by SBS Entertainment News on November 7, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul decided not to prosecute JESSI after investigating her for intimidation, criminal concealment, and escape. The police reportedly judged that there was no circumstantial evidence that JESSI participated or threatened, and that she could not be considered to have aided the criminal.
As a reminder, a fan, who was underage, who ran into JESSI in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, asked her for a photo earlier on September 29, but was assaulted by a man believed to be JESSI’s companion.
After the police report, JESSI was found at a nearby bar, but “A” was not with her, so the police asked JESSI and her group at the bar where “A” was at the time of the intervention, but they reportedly said they did not know.
Since then, CCTV footage of the incident has been released, and controversy has arisen over JESSI being a “spectator of a fan’s assault” as she was seen leaving the scene of the incident after holding the attacker back for a while. Since then, JESSI turned herself in to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul at 10 p.m. on October 16 and was investigated for over six hours as a defendant charged with assault and harboring criminals.
Before JESSI, the police called producer Koala, her confidant, for the assault charge. Koala is known to be a close producer of JESSI and an acquaintance of the perpetrator. In the case of producer Koala, who threatened underage fans, a conviction was decided for assault. Taiwanese “A”, known to be the actual perpetrator of the assault, is currently overseas.
