COSMOSY
Girl group COSMOSY has signed a label deal with Sony Music Korea, one of the three biggest labels in the world.

On February 3, Sony Music Korea announced that they have signed a label deal with COSMOSY and said they will seriously support their global music activities.
Sony Music Korea CEO Joo Young Chan explained the background of the label deal, saying, “We will show new charm to global listeners in recognition of COSMOSY’s original musical color and potential.”
An official from COSMOSY’s agency DoCoMo Studio & Live also added, “We will actively support COSMOSY in establishing themselves as a global girl group through a collaboration with Sony Music Korea.”
The label deal is an unusual case in which COSMOSY, which consists of only Japanese members including AMEI, KAMIÓN, HIMESHA, and DE_HANA, is challenging the global stage through Sony Music Korea, rather than through a Japanese label.
With this deal, Sony Music Korea plans to release an official track of COSMOSY’s first single, “Zigy=zigy,” on music sites worldwide at 6 p.m. KST on February 7.
COSMOSY’s “Zigy=zigy,” which was pre-released as a music video on December 31, is a K-pop dance song that harmonizes traditional Asian vibes based on the sound of Afro-pop. The music video, which contains the group’s worldview, also announced the emergence of a new global recruit, surpassing 10 million views in two weeks after its release.
