BIG OCEAN
The world’s first hearing impaired idol group, BIG OCEAN, has released a new song created through a special collaboration.

On February 10 at noon KST, music platform FLO released a sound source “brighT (브라이T)” to commemorate the 25th anniversary of SK Telecom’s Happy Coding Challenge, in which BIG OCEAN participated by singing.
“BrightT” is a song created through a special collaboration between SK Telecom, the Korea Federation of Disabled Persons’ Associations, Parastar Entertainment, and the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation. It is based on the English word “Bright,” which means “bright” and “intelligent,” and contains the message that “tomorrow will shine brighter.”

SKT and the Korean Federation of Trade Unions, which have been holding information retrieval competitions since 1999 to improve the ICT capabilities of young people with disabilities, held the 25th anniversary of the Happy AI Coding Challenge in October last year.
The contestants used AI to write songs and produce album cover images according to predefined topics. In addition to this, BIG OCEAN, which produces music with AI voice, participated in the singing, completing an innovative project “BrighT” that combines AI with culture and art.
In particular, Parastar Entertainment, the agency of BIG OCEAN, is also a pioneering company for SK Telecom’s startup development program “ESG Korea” and “Social Performance Incentives (SPC)”, adding meaning to the collaboration.
BIG OCEAN said through its agency, “Among the lyrics, the phrase ‘Tomorrow’s light surrounds me’ really touched me. It was amazing that AI could write lyrics naturally enough to impress us, and the people who used them well were cool. The song also has a fast and exciting beat with an addictive melody line, so we’re looking forward to seeing many people love it.”
BIG OCEAN will hold its first solo concert “Follow” at the Toyota Civic Culture Center in Nagoya, Japan on March 9.
