TWICE received an explosive response from the first day of Coldplay’s concert in Korea, followed by a collaboration on “We pray” on April 18.
On April 16, TWICE held their first special performance with British band Coldplay during the “Music of the Spheres World Tour” concert series, which held six times at the Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi Province. TWICE’s opening concert, which began at 6:45 p.m., lasted approximately 45 minutes. A parade of hits ignited the audience, and the atmosphere was heightened by full performances. The audience completed this unusual scene by singing along to “Cheer up” and the climactic “Shy shy shy” and letting out thunderous cheers.
In addition, TWICE offered a surprise joint performance with Coldplay and Chilean singer-songwriter Elyanna, who became one with the music and raised the temperature. They took the stage to perform Coldplay’s latest single, “WE PRAY“, accompanied by Korean lyrics such as “어둠 속에서 실 같은 불빛 한 줌 내려주지 않아도”, “홀로 피어 나오길 새어나오길”, “깨어나 마침내 새벽이 오면 저 길 끝에서 결국엔 웃고 있을까”.
“We Pray (TWICE Version),” a collaboration between the world’s most popular girl group TWICE and international rock band Coldplay, was officially released on several music sites at midnight on April 18th. The members of TWICE stated, “WE PRAY is a meaningful song that speaks of peace and hope in the face of difficulties. It’s even more meaningful that we can collaborate by singing Coldplay’s lyrics in Korean. Please support us wholeheartedly.”
Coldplay’s second concert in Korea, which TWICE performed as special guests in the latest episode, will take place on the 18th. Other Coldplay performances will take place on the 19th, 22nd, 24th, and 25th.
