Girl group BBGIRLS (Minyoung, Eunji, Yuna) will release a special remake single titled “HOPEFUL WISH” today, May 29 at 6 PM KST, across various music streaming platforms.

“Hopeful wish” is a reinterpretation of the iconic 1989 hit by singer Byun Jin Seop, reimagined with BBGIRLS’ own unique sensitivity. The members personally took part in adapting the lyrics, delivering a mix of light-hearted romance and humor. Notably, Byun Jin Seop himself features in the track as a surprise guest, further enhancing its emotional and musical quality.
With “Hopeful wish,” BBGIRLS aim to resonate with older generations who remember the original, evoking sweet nostalgia, while also offering the MZ generation a fresh retro vibe. Through this cross-generational collaboration with Byun Jin Seop, the group hopes to build a musical bridge that connects listeners of all ages.
Just ahead of their first official fan meeting, “Missing File 0803,” BBGIRLS are drawing attention with this surprise release, dedicated to their fans—affectionately called BBEE. Fans are eagerly anticipating how BBGIRLS will reinterpret “Hopeful wish” in their own style.
Having recently entered a new chapter under GLG, BBGIRLS released their second single “LOVE 2” in January. Following the success of “Rollin’,” the track saw an impressive climb on Korean music charts, reaffirming their strong popularity.
Additionally, “LOVE 2” reached No. 1 on the iTunes K-pop chart in Australia, and ranked highly in ten other countries. It also performed well on dance and electronic music charts, and ranked among the top positions on Apple Music Korea’s Dance chart, receiving a warm reception both domestically and internationally.
Meanwhile, “HOPEFUL WISH,” the remake single featuring Byun Jin Seop, will be released simultaneously worldwide on May 29 at 6 PM KST. BBGIRLS will then meet their fans at their official fan meeting “Missing File 0803” on June 8 at Spigen Hall.
