Rapper DOK2 has officially settled all of his unpaid taxes.

On June 2, it was reported that DOK2 recently paid off the full amount of taxes he had previously failed to pay.
Back in 2023, he was listed as a habitual major delinquent taxpayer, having accumulated unpaid taxes totaling 672 million KRW (approximately 450,000 euros), including income tax, local taxes, and health insurance premiums. At the time, he expressed his intent to settle the debt — and has now followed through.
DOK2 drew particularly harsh criticism for this issue due to his past displays of wealth. In 2018, when a controversy arose involving alleged debts owed by his mother, he had famously said:
“10 million won (about €7,000) is nothing more than my monthly food budget,”a statement that sparked widespread backlash.
Additionally, DOK2 was previously ordered by a court to pay approximately 45 million won (around €30,000) to an overseas jewelry store. He had purchased jewelry on credit for his performances but never paid the bill.
Now that he’s cleared his tax debts, DOK2 is reportedly working on releasing a new track.
On a more somber note, in March, DOK2 shared heartbreaking news about his mother:
“My mother, who had been battling pneumonia, diabetes, and the effects of a stroke for over three years, passed away peacefully on February 14 — just before her birthday — after being removed from life support in a hospice unit.”
He also shared:
“I’ve always released music on my birthday, but this time, I’m releasing a song for my mother — my first time doing so without her, on her birthday. I wish I could have shown her a better version of myself over the past few years, but I didn’t have the strength. My heart is heavy.”
