The vocal group H.B.Y 허용별 (Heo Yong Byul) is making a comeback with a brand new single.
H.B.Y 허용별 (Huh Gak, Shin Yongjae, and Lim Hanbyul) will release its new single “이게 뭐냔 말이야” (“What is this supposed to be?”) on June 3rd at 6 PM KST.
“이게 뭐냔 말이야” is an emotional ballad that blends a warm electric piano melody with retro-inspired synth pads and electric guitar sounds. The lyrics tell the raw and honest story of a man who, despite trying to appear composed after a breakup, eventually breaks down. H.B.Y’s calm yet heartfelt vocals powerfully express the unfiltered pain of separation.
Actor Choi Jin Hyuk (최진혁) appears in the music video to support H.B.Y. This marks his first music video appearance in 12 years, and he readily agreed to take part as he’s long been a fan of the three singers. The two teaser clips released ahead of time highlighted his delicate and expressive acting, portraying the loneliness and emotional complexity of a man dealing with heartbreak—raising anticipation for the full video. Additionally, all three members of H.B.Y will make cameo appearances, adding a fun touch for viewers.
Following a successful national tour with stops in Suwon, Jeonju, and Seoul under the title “허용별 콘서트 : 보컬 전쟁 시즌2 – The War of Vocalists II ,” H.B.Y gave fans a surprise live preview of the new song “이게 뭐냔 말이야”—sparking an enthusiastic response even before its official release.
