PARK JUN HWAN
PARK JUN HWAN is stepping down from the group IDID following controversy surrounding his personal life.

Just as he was preparing to debut with the boy group IDID, PARK JUN HWAN has decided to leave the group amid ongoing speculation and rumors about his private affairs.
On June 2, Starship Entertainment released the following statement:
“We would like to inform you about PARK JUN HWAN’s decision to leave the group. The recent rumors circulating online about PARK JUN HWAN are entirely unfounded. Through a thorough review of his academic records across all school years and statements from school officials, we have clearly confirmed that he is a sincere and responsible student.”
The agency continued:
“We have also identified accounts posing as former classmates on anonymous chat rooms and online communities. We have obtained objective evidence that these were impersonations.”
However, they added:
“Due to baseless rumors, malicious slander, and ongoing hate comments, PARK JUN HWAN, who is still a minor, has been suffering from extreme psychological distress. The situation has recently worsened to the point that it severely disrupted his daily life.”
They further stated:
“Despite our efforts to support his psychological recovery with the help of mental health professionals, PARK JUN HWAN sincerely expressed his desire to withdraw from group activities. We have decided to respect his wishes and allow him to take the time he needs to rest and recover.”
The agency also affirmed:
“We will continue to fully support PARK JUN HWAN so that he can regain his health during this break and eventually take new steps toward his dreams outside of IDID.”

In addition, Starship Entertainment made public a letter of apology written by the individual responsible for spreading the rumors. In the letter, the person admitted:
“I carelessly treated unverified stories as facts and used expressions implying details about PARK JUN HWAN’s private life, seriously damaging his reputation and image.”
As a reminder, IDID is an eight-member group (Park Junhwan, Kim Minjae, Jang Yonghoon, Baek Junhyuk, Park Wonbin, Chu Yoochan, Jung Semin, Park Seonghyeon) formed through Starship Entertainment’s large-scale project “Debut’s Plan”. They were scheduled to make their official debut in the second half of 2025.
However, due to the recent revelations and controversy regarding PARK JUN HWAN’s personal life, he has voluntarily stepped down from the group.
