The group BTS sets a new record for a K-pop artist on the Billboard 200.

On July 27 (local time), the American music media outlet Billboard published an article on its official website announcing the upcoming chart rankings for the following week. According to Billboard, the live album “PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LIVE”, released on July 18, debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 (the main albums chart) dated August 2.
With this album, BTS now has 16 albums that have appeared on the Billboard 200, including 8 that have reached the Top 10. This is the record for the most Top 10 albums by a K-pop artist. Following BTS are groups SEVENTEEN, TWICE, and ATEEZ, each with 7 albums that have made the Top 10 on this chart.
“PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LIVE” is a live album featuring performances from the tour of the same name held between 2021 and 2022 in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. The album includes 22 tracks, such as “Dynamite,” “Butter,” and “Blood sweat & tears.”
Recently, BTS officially announced their comeback for next spring during a live broadcast on the fan platform Weverse Live. The group plans to resume full group activities with a new album, accompanied by a large-scale world tour.
