Cube Entertainment’s new boy group NOWZ has successfully wrapped up promotions for its debut mini-album.
NOWZ (Hyeonbin, Yoon, Yeonwoo, Jinhyuk, Siyun) concluded its official activities for its first mini-album “IGNITION” with a performance broadcast on July 29 on SBS funE’s “The Show.” After winning a rookie award last year and gaining recognition as “next-generation rookies,” the group kicked off this new chapter under its rebranded name, NOWZ, showcasing its limitless potential.
Released on July 9, “IGNITION” is an album that conveys a passionate message about racing toward the top and celebrates youth. NOWZ demonstrated broad musical versatility and strong performance skills. Notably, the album surpassed 150,000 copies in first-week sales, nearly doubling their previous sales and reflecting remarkable growth.
The group launched its promotions with a pre-release single titled “Fly to the youth (Feat. Yuqi)”, produced by Yuqi of I-DLE, their agency senior. With its whistling hook and catchy chorus, the track topped the daily new releases chart on QQ Music in China, marking the group’s first #1 on a digital chart.
The title track “Everglow” signaled a successful shift to an emotional rock style. It ranked highly on Spotify charts in Taiwan and Singapore, and also performed well in South Korea, reaching #74 on Melon’s HOT100, #30 on the latest releases chart (week 1), and #35 on Bugs’ real-time chart.
With “Problem child,” NOWZ caught attention for its “high-sensitivity performance.” Their mega-crew performance video featuring over 50 dancers and their high-energy music show appearances left a lasting impression. They also showed staying power, ranking #23 and #28 on Spotify’s weekly charts in Korea and Singapore, respectively.
Beyond music shows, NOWZ showcased its charm and sense of humor in the web variety show Hong Seokcheon’s Treasure Box alongside Hong Seokcheon, and impressed audiences with powerful live vocals in Limousine Service. They also appeared on KBS Cool FM’s Lee Eunji’s Music Plaza and the web content series It’s Live, among other promotions.
After wrapping up their debut promotions on a high note, NOWZ is set to meet its international fans at the M COUNTDOWN stage during KCON LA 2025, held on August 1 (local time) at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, USA.
