Singer YOO SEUNG JUN (Steve Yoo) has won his lawsuit for the third time, seeking to overturn the visa refusal decision. Following this, he posted a video, the first since the court ruling, in which he shared a meaningful message that caught public attention.

On August 31, YOO SEUNG JUN expressed his affection for his family through a video on his YouTube channel. He said:
“I met my wife when I was fifteen; it’s been 33 or 34 years now. She married me when I was at my lowest and held me tightly.”
Referring to his eldest son, born during a difficult time in his life, he added, “He was like a light for me.”
In the video description, he also shared:
“The greatest blessing in my life is having my loving wife and family. The harder and more painful it gets, the closer and deeper love, forgiveness, and comfort become. When going through hardship, that’s when you can tell fake from real, finite from infinite.”
YOO SEUNG JUN continued:
“How wonderful it would be to learn life without mistakes or regrets. It’s only as wrinkles and white hairs appear that we gradually begin to understand… No one is exempt. We realize something’s value only after losing it. I’m a truly foolish person.”
He added:
“It wasn’t easy, but I made it this far. Is there really an easy life in this world? The way the media distorts facts and dulls sincerity is truly regrettable.”
These remarks drew particular attention as they were YOO SEUNG JUN’s first public words since the 5th Administrative Division of the Seoul Administrative Court ruled on August 28 in favor of Yoo in his lawsuit against the Korean Consulate General in Los Angeles, which had denied his visa application.
YOO SEUNG JUN has been regularly posting messages on his social media and YouTube channel. Last April, on the 28th anniversary of his debut, he expressed:
“The time we spent together was too short… Maybe that makes it even more special? I was active for just over 5 years, and it’s now been 23 years since we parted. For the future… who knows? Just like we didn’t expect to be separated this long… But I won’t give up. No matter what others say, I’ll keep living with the beautiful image you have of me.”
On August 17, after a four-year hiatus, YOO SEUNG JUN uploaded a new video on YouTube, signaling a gradual comeback. In it, he said:
“You don’t know me… and do I really know you? Who are you to judge me? Do you all keep your promises?”
His words were seen as a reference to the controversies surrounding him, sparking strong reactions.
In 2002, YOO SEUNG JUN left Korea for an overseas concert, then acquired U.S. citizenship, triggering controversy over draft evasion. He has not set foot in Korea for 23 years. He filed three lawsuits against the Korean Consulate General in Los Angeles’ visa refusals and won all three. However, the 2002 entry ban imposed by the Ministry of Justice remains in effect, leaving his return uncertain despite the legal victories.
As he continues his legal battle, YOO SEUNG JUN has resumed communication with the public after four years. Sharing images of his family and passionately expressing his desire to return, his ongoing meaningful statements continue to draw attention.
