The soundtrack album of the Netflix animated film “KPOP DEMON HUNTERS” has reached #1 on the Billboard 200 for the first time, the main album chart in the United States.

This makes the “KPOP DEMON HUNTERS“ OST the first to top both the Hot 100 (the main singles chart) and the Billboard 200.
On September 14 (local time), Billboard reported that the OST had surpassed Sabrina Carpenter’s “Man’s Best Friend” to reach the top of the album chart.
The OST debuted at #8 on the Billboard 200 in its first week, held the #2 spot for seven non-consecutive weeks, and this week reached #1 for the first time.
The OST’s hit track, “Golden”, has remained at #1 on the main singles chart for its fourth consecutive week.
Billboard noted that this is the seventh time an OST has topped the Billboard 200, and the first since “Encanto” in 2022, three years ago.
The Billboard 200 ranks albums by combining physical album sales, streaming numbers converted into album equivalents (SEA), and digital download numbers converted into album equivalents (TEA) to calculate Album Units.
During this chart tracking period, the “KPOP DEMON HUNTERS” OST recorded 128,000 Album Units.
Billboard analyzed that the success was driven by sing-along screenings across the U.S. and the deluxe reissue of the album, boosting both streaming and sales.
The media noted that the deluxe version, with 23 tracks, includes sing-along and a cappella versions of existing hits, and that the LP release is scheduled for October 17.
