Actress HAN HYO JOO, who plays the role of Lee Hana, a genius chocolatier suffering from social phobia in the Japan-Korea joint drama “Romantics anonymous“, set to be released on Netflix on October 16, appears on the cover of the October issue of Singles magazine.

In the photoshoot, HAN HYO JOO displays a refreshing charm with a natural, makeup-free face, reminiscent of a heroine straight out of a romantic manga.

In the accompanying interview, she explained that since over 90% of the dialogue in this project was in Japanese, she stayed in Tokyo for about a year for the intense filming. Speaking about her co-star Oguri Shun, she said he was “a truly talented actor,” and described the filming atmosphere as cheerful yet filled with a strong sense of camaraderie. With its romantic manga-like vibe, “Romantics anonymous” drew attention from the moment it was announced thanks to its star-studded cast. Reports say that the chemistry between the top actors from both countries, along with HAN HYO JOO’s near-native level of Japanese, has heightened the enjoyment of the drama. Reflecting on the final day of filming, HAN HYO JOO shared: “Most of the staff members were in tears because we had grown so attached to one another,” adding that she approached the project with the mindset of a rookie, further raising expectations for this new work.
The year 2024 also marks HAN HYO JOO’s 20th anniversary as an actress. Concluding the interview, she sincerely expressed:
“I’ve been lucky to come this far, and I’ve worked even harder with the conviction that I owe a debt to all the love and opportunities I’ve received.”
