SEVENTEEN - HOSHI
As HOSHI, a member of the group SEVENTEEN, prepares to begin his mandatory military service, he left fans with a surprise gift.

According to his agency, Pledis Entertainment, HOSHI entered the Army Training Center on September 16, where he will undergo basic training before serving as an active-duty soldier. He is the fourth SEVENTEEN member to enlist, following JEONGHAN, WONWOO, and WOOZI.
The night before his enlistment, on September 15, HOSHI hosted a live broadcast on the fan community platform Weverse. He shared a heartfelt message with fans, saying, “I’ll go and return bravely. Please don’t worry too much.”
During the broadcast, HOSHI also gave fans an early heads-up about his upcoming track, set to be released on September 16. He said:
“The song is called “Take a shot”. It’s a full rap track and has a different style from what I’ve done before. It’s a song that represents me.”
The new track, “Take a shot”, gifted to fans as a surprise before his enlistment, is a hip-hop song rooted in the Rage genre, known for its intense and energetic vibe. It features HOSHI’s powerful and skillful rap layered with dynamic synth sounds and guitar riffs, delivering a sense of urgency and unrestrained energy.

HOSHI also took part in writing the lyrics, expressing his burning passion through the words. The track’s raw sound effects and untamed energy amplify his swag-filled lyrics, symbolizing the journey that lies ahead for him.
In addition to his work with SEVENTEEN, HOSHI has been steadily building a strong career as a solo artist. In 2021, he released the mixtape “SPIDER”, and has since dropped several solo tracks on YouTube, including “I want you back”, “Stay”, “호랑이 (Tiger)” (featuring Tiger JK), “호랑이 Power“, and “Damage” (featuring Timbaland), which was featured on SEVENTEEN’s fifth full-length album.
