Members S.COUPS and MINGYU of SEVENTEEN are raising anticipation for their new unit and upcoming album.
On September 26, S.COUPS and MINGYU released a new teaser for the music video of the title track “5, 4, 3 (pretty woman) (feat. Lay Bankz)”, taken from their 1st mini album “HYPE VIBES”, through the official HYBE LABELS YouTube channel.
The video drew attention with the surprise appearance of American hip-hop artist Lay Bankz, a representative voice of Gen Z. Though her part is brief, her sharp, addictive rap left a strong impression, and her interpretation of the Korean word “예뻐” (“pretty”) further heightened curiosity about the full track.
Dance sequences filmed in Long Beach, an iconic Los Angeles location, also added to the spectacle. Surrounded by numerous “pretty woman”, S.COUPS and MINGYU exude a cool vibe that blends seamlessly with the exotic scenery.
“5, 4, 3 (pretty woman) (feat. Lay Bankz)” delivers straightforward lyrics expressing romantic emotions toward someone irresistibly attractive. The song interpolates Roy Orbison’s hit “Oh, pretty woman”, reinventing it with the unique style of S.COUPS and MINGYU. The surprise release of the video challenge for the title track has already surpassed 100 million views in just four days, proving the explosive enthusiasm of the public.
S.COUPS and MINGYU will release their new album on September 29 at 6 PM KST and unveil their first performance on Mnet’s “MCountdown” on October 2.
