The main soundtrack of the Netflix animated film “KPOP DEMON HUNTERS”, titled “Golden”, has topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the 7th consecutive week.

According to Billboard’s pre-announcement article on September 29 (local time), “Golden” again claimed the number one spot on the latest Hot 100 (dated October 4), just like the previous week. This marks an impressive 7-week consecutive reign. To date, the only K-pop songs to hold the Hot 100 number one for at least seven weeks are “Golden” and “Butter” by BTS (10 weeks).
The Billboard Hot 100 ranking combines U.S. streaming data, radio airplay, and sales.
During the tracking period, “Golden” recorded 33.8 million streams in the U.S. (+5% from the previous week), 33.9 million radio listeners (+11%), and 8,000 sales (+2%). The song has now held the top spot on the Streaming Songs chart for 10 consecutive weeks and climbed from 16th to 9th place on the Radio Songs chart.
The hype is not limited to “Golden”: other tracks from the “KPOP DEMON HUNTERS” soundtrack also stand out, with “Soda pop” at 3rd place and “Your idol” at 5th place on the Hot 100.
Netflix had already announced merchandise for sale on its shop related to the animated film, such as T-shirts and more. Now, the Korean site Withmuu offers pre-orders for the famous K-pop lightsticks from the groups featured in the animation, Saja Boys and, of course, Huntr/x.
