LAPOEM
The crossover group LA POEM delivered a moving performance at a diplomatic-level event celebrating cultural exchanges between South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
LA POEM was invited to perform on November 18 (local time) at the presidential palace in Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Watan, during the Korea–UAE cultural event titled “Culture, UAE and Korea connect”.
This event, held for the first time at the UAE presidential palace for a Korean performance, gathered over 300 attendees, including the South Korean presidential couple, political and economic figures, artists, and Hallyu fans.
On that day, LA POEM performed two OSTs from Korean dramas that are very popular in the Middle East. They presented the OST from “Descendants of the sun”, “You are my everything”, as well as “아침의 나라”, the OST from the drama “Bon appétit, your majesty”, in which LA POEM personally participated, further enhancing the atmosphere of the show.
In particular, LA POEM captivated the audience with the rich harmony and dramatic singing typical of crossover music. Their performance, blending classical depth and pop sensitivity, powerfully conveyed the emotion characteristic of Korean drama OSTs.
For the finale, LA POEM performed “Ode to joy” with soprano Jo Sumi, closing the show brilliantly. Jo Sumi’s powerful voice and LA POEM’s rich harmony received enthusiastic applause.
Through this performance, LA POEM once again confirmed its status as a leading crossover vocal group and solidified its presence as artists representing Korean music at an event symbolizing cultural exchanges between Korea and the UAE.
LA POEM will hold their concert “LA POEM SYMPHONY In Love” on November 29 and 30 at the Grand Theater of the Sejong Center in Seoul. This concert, realized in collaboration with the KBS Symphony Orchestra, promises to reveal another facet of their musical universe.
