SUMMER, a young Korean artist with a springtime universe and a soft voice, returns with a brand-new single titled “LITTLE KITTY”. This song, both light and profound, perfectly reflects her personality: tender, graceful, and capable of making anyone who listens smile.
Awarded in 2024 by the Koreo Awards, SUMMER was able to bring this project to life thanks to this victory. The single was produced in a Franco-Korean collaboration: French producer Tibaut Pezzo supervised the edition, while RGBY and PAINTER (HaoRen Wang) composed, arranged, and wrote the lyrics. SUMMER provides the main vocals, accompanied by Soo Kyeong (수경) on backing vocals, for an intimate and airy result.
The little French touch doesn’t stop with the producer: a few French words appear in the lyrics, adding a delightful bilingual flavor. The music video, produced by Kim Daru (RGBY), depicts a retro Seoul with city-pop tones, all bathed in a soothing warmth. According to SUMMER, the visual atmosphere aimed to evoke that moment between autumn and winter, when the temperature gently drops, just like the love she describes in her song.
In the lyrics of “Little kitty”, SUMMER adopts a unique perspective: that of a cat who loves its owner unconditionally. At first, everything is tender; but over time, attention becomes rarer, emptiness settles in, yet the cat’s love remains constant. She explains she wanted to express this pure loyalty, despite distance, and the loneliness felt when the other drifts away.
The music video illustrates this metaphor with a stray cat wandering the nighttime streets of Seoul, searching for its lost owner. SUMMER hopes viewers will feel this sincerity and take a moment to appreciate the simple beauty of Korean streets. Three versions of the single are offered: the original version, a “speed” version, and an instrumental, so that everyone can make it their own.
