TAEYONG officially completed his active service on December 14. Enlisting on April 15 of last year, becoming the first NCT member to fulfill his national duty, he served diligently in the South Korean Navy.
On the day of his discharge, facing fans who came to greet him, TAEYONG said:
“Thank you so much for coming from so far despite the cold. I enlisted in spring, and now I’m being discharged in the middle of winter under the snow—it’s a really unique feeling. I am actively preparing so that we can meet again very soon, so I hope you look forward to it.”
He also added, bowing to his fans:
“You’ve waited a long time, haven’t you? Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Since his debut in 2016 with NCT, TAEYONG has had an active career as a member of NCT U, NCT 127, and SUPER M, receiving immense love from fans worldwide. Alongside group activities, he has also distinguished himself as a solo artist, releasing high-quality albums praised for their musical solidity.
At the time of his enlistment, TAEYONG said:
“Thanks to you and the members, I have grown so much up until today. Every moment has been precious and joyful. Thank you for giving me such bright and invaluable moments. I still have many things I want to accomplish with the members and the fans, so I will do my best during my service and learn a lot. I will return to the stage as a better version of myself.”
Now returned to civilian life, attention turns to the artistic growth and developments he will show in the future.
Meanwhile, NCT continues activities in a flexible format, with some members currently serving in the military. JAEHYUN enlisted last November in the military band, while DOYOUNG and JUNGWOO began their active service in the army on December 8.
