The new music video for “Narcissist” by soloist YEL, formerly of FIESTAR, draws attention for its AI-based production method.

YEL released the video for “Narcissist” on February 2, simultaneously with the song release. The video is produced using artificial intelligence technologies, capturing attention with its sensory staging and narrative construction.
The video depicts the process by which a pure soul, victim of gaslighting by a narcissist, gradually disintegrates toward a tragic outcome. Animated sequences reminiscent of a cruel adult fairy tale alternate with dance performance scenes expressing the character’s inner emotions, gradually building the tension of the narrative. The storytelling darkens progressively, visually amplifying the message conveyed by the song.
The audio source also departs from YEL’s usual image through a different choice of vocal tone and genre, resulting in controlled tension and a dense sound. The soundscape, which delicately captures emotional fractures and relational distortions, aligns with the video narrative and enhances immersion.
Regarding this AI video production, YEL stated
“Working with AI impressed me because I could extend the images I imagined in multiple directions without fixing them to a single outcome. From image generation to the completion of the video, many trials, errors, and repeated adjustments were required, but despite it being a first attempt, I achieved a satisfactory result”.
She continued, “At the planning and editing stages, the creator’s thoughts and time remain essential”, before adding “AI does not replace the entire process, but I think it can become a meaningful tool in the future to visually translate the atmosphere and message of the music”.
YEL’s new track “Narcissist” has been available since February 2 on major streaming platforms.
