The member of the group RED VELVET, IRENE, presents her first solo studio album 12 years after her debut and solidifies her position as an artist.
The agency SM ENTERTAINMENT announced on the 9th that IRENE will release her first studio album “BIGGEST FAN” on the 30th and will fully begin her solo activities.
This studio album consists of a total of 10 songs of various genres, including the title track of the same name “Biggest fan”. The agency said about this new album: “Amid the constant support of fans who have remained by her side for a long time, IRENE becomes her own strongest supporter and deeply portrays the journey through which she strengthens herself.”, announcing an even more expanded musical universe.
Previously, IRENE had already proven her competitiveness in the market as a solo artist through her first mini-album “LIKE A FLOWER”, released in November 2024. At the time, it surpassed 330,000 copies sold in the first week of release and ranked at the top of major album charts.
Having debuted in 2014 with RED VELVET, IRENE developed her vocal and performance abilities not only through group activities but also through the unit RED VELVET – IRENE & SEULGI. Drawing attention in the K-pop market for her unique visuals, she plans with this studio album to emphasize her inner growth and a musical narrative beyond her outward appearance.
The promotional content revealed ahead of the comeback is also drawing attention with its original concept. The trailer released on the official YouTube channel adopts the concept of an advertisement for a fictional switch that would make someone perfect simply by pressing it, revealing the visual identity of this album.
IRENE’s first studio album “BIGGEST FAN” will begin pre-orders on the 9th through various online and offline album stores. This new album is the first solo result about 1 year and 4 months after her first mini-album and is raising expectations among music fans in Korea and abroad.
