The youngest member of the group ITZY (Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, Yuna), YUNA, releases her first solo mini-album “ICE CREAM” today (23rd) and takes her first steps as a full-fledged solo artist.
YUNA will present her first solo album “ICE CREAM” and the title song of the same name on March 23 at 6 p.m. KST, becoming the second solo runner of ITZY after YEJI. Since her debut with ITZY in 2019, YUNA, who has shone her distinct presence with inexhaustible charm and characteristic adorable energy, is expected to establish a new identity as a solo artist through this album.
The debut song “Ice cream” is of the Bubblegum Pop genre with a sparkling rhythm like chewing gum. It contains the positive message “let’s fully enjoy this present moment that melts softly like ice cream,” and the music video directed by director YOON SEUNG RIM of LEGEND FILM plans to sensually convey the perfect visuals and elegant dance line unique to YUNA.
The new album includes a total of 4 songs allowing to verify the diverse musical colors of YUNA, notably the title song “Ice cream”, as well as “B-boy” which brings to life a free atmosphere, “Blue maze” which depicts with depth a sweet and dreamlike moment of love, and up to “Hyper dream” which invites to “dive together into the world of dreams” on a layering of dramatic and splendid sounds.
In particular, this solo debut generates even more expectations by coinciding with the recent craze for the historical rise in the charts of the song “That’s a no no”, from an album by ITZY 6 years ago. The performance of this song, presented for the first time during the Seoul concert of the world tour “TUNNEL VISION” last February, recorded an explosive number of views on various social media short-form platforms, leading to a rise in the music charts. YUNA, taking up this momentum from the group, is expected to lastingly mark her presence as a “solo queen” endowed with both visual and talent.
Before officially releasing the solo mini-album “ICE CREAM” on March 23 at 6 p.m. KST, YUNA will organize a countdown live at 5 p.m. KST on the same day to celebrate her solo debut with MIDZY (fandom name) from around the world.
