The group SEVENTEEN signs a second contract renewal with its agency.
SEVENTEEN (S.coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The 8, Mingyu, Dk, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) held the encore concerts of its world tour “NEW_” on the past 4th and 5th at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium.
It was the show closing the great chapter of the world tour which had set sail last September at the same location. Including the encore concerts, they organized 31 performances in 14 cities around the world, gathering more than 900,000 spectators (combined total online and offline).
The highlight was the new surprise announced on the last day of the concert. S.COUPS declared “We will continue to row together on the same boat in the future”, revealing that they are about to sign a second contract renewal with PLEDIS ENTERTAINMENT, a label of HYBE Music Group. It was the moment when the previous promise, “The 13 members of SEVENTEEN will do their best to get closer to eternity together”, was materialized.
SEVENTEEN cited the CARAT (official fandom name) as the main reason for the decision to renew the contract, saying: “We want to tell everyone that we love you. We will come back as 13 soon, so please wait a little”. Furthermore, they emphasized: “When a flower withers, an even stronger life is born behind it. It’s the same for SEVENTEEN. We will continue to actively lead unit and individual activities in the future and will always remain by the side of CARAT”.
JEONGHAN and WONWOO, who are fulfilling their military duty, also showed their solidarity by sending their encouragement from the spectators’ seats.
The fervor reached its peak that day during the encore stage added to the good news. A torrential rain suddenly fell at the end of the concert, but the members took no notice of it and shared a romantic moment with the fans by spontaneously choosing titles like “Super”, “God of music” and “Headliner”. Before that, performances of “April shower”, “_world”, “To you” and “Circles” brought poignant emotion, seeming to show in advance the new blooming of SEVENTEEN and the new world that CARAT and they will face.
SEVENTEEN proved its constantly expanding musical spectrum by adding the hit song “Super” to this encore concert, as well as the stages for “5, 4, 3 (pretty woman)” (S.COUPS X MINGYU feat. LAY BANKZ) and “Blue” (DK X SEUNGKWAN). Moreover, not only solo songs crossing genres, but also the intense performances of “Thunder”, “Hot” and “Hit”, mingled with lively group interpretations and a splendid staging, offered catharsis to the spectators.
SEVENTEEN continues its active activities with various shows. First of all, the “main vocals” of the team, DK X SEUNGKWAN, will beautifully open the curtain of “DXS [SOYAGOK] ON STAGE” at the Inspire Arena in Incheon from the 17th to the 19th. S.COUPS X MINGYU, who started their tour a bit ahead of time, plan to heat up the Kaohsiung Arena from the 24th to the 26th with “CXM [DOUBLE UP] LIVE PIE”. There is also a fan meeting with the full group. They will return to the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on June 20 and 21 to organize the 10th anniversary fan meeting “SEVENTEEN IN CARAT LAND”.
