CIX : SEUNGHUN’s words on his retirement from entertainment

Member SEUNGHUN of the group CIX has announced his retirement from the entertainment industry following the end of the group’s activities.

On the 29th of last month, SEUNGHUN published a handwritten letter on his social network, stating: “Seven years have already passed (since our debut). At first, I started simply because I liked the idea of debuting, and it is still incredible to me to have spent so much time with you.”

He continued with gratitude: “Looking back, I was someone very imperfect. I was clumsy, I made many mistakes, and there were surely times when I did not live up to your expectations. It is thanks to the FIX (fandom name), who believed in me until the end, encouraged me, and told me that everything was fine, that I was able to become a better person.”

Announcing his retirement, SEUNGHUN explained: “After mature reflection, I have decided to set aside the name of singer and try to live a new life as an individual offstage. This is not an easy word to say, but I thought it was an indispensable decision for me today.”

He also shared his fears: “Having lived singing and dancing from elementary school until now, this new life scares me and makes me afraid, honestly. But I will try to live fervently, in my own way.”

SEUNGHUN added: “The moments spent on stage were the brightest of my life. Thank you for loving me, for completing me, and for walking by my side during my youth. Although we will now live separately, I sincerely wish for the FIX to be happy.”

Finally, he concluded by addressing his comrades: “I also want to say thank you to the members who walked by my side during these 7 years. Thank you for holding on together, in moments of joy as in difficult moments. Thank you for these 7 years. Thanks to you, I was a very happy SEUNGHUN of CIX.”

As a reminder, CIX, which debuted in 2019, announced the end of its activities on April 29. The agency C9 ENTERTAINMENT stated: “After several months of discussions for the continuation of the team’s activities, everyone agreed that it was inevitable to stop the group’s operation.”

According to the agency, the exclusive contracts of BX and SEUNGHUN ended on April 30. YONGHEE will see his contract end with his enlistment on May 11, while for HYUNSUK, the contract will end on May 31 after the end of filming for his current drama.

“To my FIX.

Seven years have already passed. At first, I didn’t know much and I started simply because I liked the idea of debuting, but it is still incredible to me to have spent so much time with you.

Looking back, I was someone very imperfect. I was clumsy, I made many mistakes, and there were surely times when I did not live up to your expectations, but it is thanks to the FIX who believed in me until the end, encouraged me, and told me that everything was fine that I was able to gradually become a better person. The me of today is certainly a person created by the FIX. Since my debut, I was often told that I had a lot of love for my fans, and the time spent communicating with the FIX was truly happy. However, from a certain point, I lacked peace of mind, and in periods when the future seemed blurred, I could not go to you as before. If I caused pain to the FIX who were waiting for me, I am truly sorry. It was only a lack of peace of mind, my feelings toward the FIX had absolutely not diminished.

I also want to thank the employees of the agency and the staff who have always been close to us. It is thanks to your efforts that I was able to get this far.
