The group I-DLE, celebrating its 8th anniversary, addressed its thanks to its fans.
On May 2, the agency CUBE ENTERTAINMENT published a commemorative poster for the 8th anniversary of its debut on the official social media of I-DLE (Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, Shuhua).
The members of I-DLE shared their impressions: “Time really flies. If these last 8 years have been filled with happy memories, it is, it seems, entirely thanks to NEVERLAND. We are very, very happy to be together with our members, and we will work hard for another 80 years.”
Having taken their first steps in the music industry on May 2, 2018, with the mini album “I AM”, the members of I-DLE have built a unique musical universe by recording mega-hits with every release, from their debut song “Latata” (composed by the leader SOYEON) to “Tomboy”, “Nxde”, or “Queencard”.
Last year, on the occasion of their 7th anniversary, they opened a new “ACT 2” as “us.” After repositioning the group’s name as I-DLE, their 8th mini-album “WE ARE” exceeded 1.06 million copies in its first week, reaching “million-seller” status for the fourth consecutive time.
The digital single “MONO (FEAT. SKAIWATER)” released this year achieved remarkable results by winning three trophies on music shows. The members are currently in the final stages of work for a comeback next July.
Regarding this comeback, I-DLE stated: “We think it could be different from the image of I-DLE that many people imagine. We are curious to know how it will be perceived,” adding: “While trying new styles, we will maintain the image of I-DLE that fans love. We plan to show more mature music, so stay tuned.”
As for the driving force that has allowed them to remain active for 8 years, they expressed their pride: “All the members continue to love music, and the solid faith and trust we have in each other have, it seems, made the team even stronger. We are proud to see I-DLE continue to grow.”
I-DLE also continues an active journey on the world stage. Last year, with the release of the Japanese EP album “I-DLE”, they successfully completed their first arena tour in Japan titled “逢い-DLE”, and this year they are meeting fans worldwide via their fourth world tour “2026 I-DLE WORLD TOUR [SYNCOPATION]”. On July 31 (local time), they will take the stage at the LOLLAPALOOZA festival at Grant Park in Chicago, United States.
Finally, the members expressed their affection:
“Dear NEVERLAND whom we love! It is because you found us beautiful and took care of us with a constant heart for 8 years that we, I-DLE, have been able to succeed until now. Let’s stay together for a very long time, well beyond this period. We will make a lot of effort to make that possible. We love you.”
Furthermore, I-DLE plans to organize a live broadcast to commemorate their 8th anniversary this May 2 at 5 PM KST via their official YouTube channel.
