A police investigation has been opened following the sudden disappearance of a foreign trainee who was about to debut in an idol group.

According to police sources and the YONHAP news agency this Sunday, May 3, the YEONGDEUNGPO police station in SEOUL has issued a travel ban against “A”, a trainee of Japanese nationality, on suspicion of fraud.
“A” was scheduled to debut in a six-member boy group. However, last December, he abruptly broke off all contact after simply stating that “the relationship of trust had collapsed.” The group eventually debuted with five members, but the agency later discovered that “A” was already under contract with another company, constituting a “double contract” situation.
