The group I.O.I begins the story of its return after nine years of absence with the release of an archive track.
This May 4 at 6 p.m. KST, I.O.I releases on all music streaming platforms “웃으며 안녕 (Recorded in 2016) (Prod. Jinyoung)”, a preview track from its third mini-album “I.O.I : LOOP”.
“웃으며 안녕” is an archive track that preserves the voices of the members as they were recorded in 2016. The producer Jinyoung, a long-time collaborator of the group, participated in the creation to establish a lyrical atmosphere. The lyrics deliver the message of the time: promising to keep smiling while encouraging each other’s future despite the separation.
Furthermore, I.O.I will release its new opus “I.O.I : LOOP” on May 19 to officially launch its activities. This album, which bridges nine years of separation, saw the active participation of members such as JEON SOMI, CHUNGHA, and YOO YEONJUNG in the writing and composition of all the tracks, including the title song “Suddenly”.
Finally, after the release of the mini-album on May 19, I.O.I will kick off its Asian tour “2026 I.O.I Concert Tour : LOOP” with three days of concerts at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul, from May 29 to 31.
